I'm going to keep things relatively brief as there was a lot to do here. The first thing I did was head down to the first dock to receive a Fire Stone! Now I can evolve Hot Wings when the time is right. I think I may want to wait for him to learn Acrobatics first, but we'll see.
The next item of note was my trip to the Battle Company for some easy experience and a few goodies.
One such goody was the Scope Lens. I immediately gave it to Peach. That combined with her Super Luck ability should make for some crit-happy battles in the future.
Another awesome prize was the Exp. Share. This will come in handy when I have to train new party members. Now all I need is a Lucky Egg...
Oh yes, I went shopping too. Gotta get some Soda Pop, a cheap and better alternative to Super Potions. I have to remember to stock up even more before I leave Castelia.
My Pokémon's levels were already plenty high from over-leveling to take on Lenora, so I headed right to the Castelia Gym. Unfortunately I had forgotten about the whole Team Plasma side quest thing that takes place before. Oh well, more easy experience!
While tracking down Team Plasma, I did a little more exploring and received the Eviolite. I decided to give it to Gingersnap since she can still evolve, just to make her even more of a defensive wall. *maniacal laugh*
Back to Team Plasma... Not much to say here. It didn't take much to defeat these grunts. But at any rate, their hideout was exposed and they fled to pester me another day,
Okay, now time to take on the Gym. Here's a quick look at my team before entering.
All the trainers fell in one hit to Hot Wing's awesome Flame Burst attack. He is truly becoming a force to be reckoned with.
I led with Hot Wings against Burgh's Whirlipede. I had given him a Pecha Berry in case of poison, but Hot Wings took out Whirlipede so quickly I didn't even have time to take a picture of it.
For round 2 I sent out Scampi against Dwebble. Another uneventful fight. Water Pulse took it out in one hit.
Hot Wings had done so well against Venipede that I decided to send him back out against Burgh's powerhouse, Leavanny. Again, one Flame Burst was all it took. Maybe it was just due to Leavanny's 4x Fire weakness, but still Hot Wings was amazing in this battle.
And just like that the Insect Badge was mine. Three down, five more to go!
Upon exiting the Gym, I got a call from Bianca asking me to come to Route 4 for another battle. Guess that's where I'll start my next episode.
Until next time!
